How does a Repair Café work?
We are setting up in two locations in Winchester and will run a café in each place once a month. Our current venues are Badger Farm Community Centre and Winnall Primary School. Other places may be added as we develop.
You need to book a session filling in the booking form. We will confirm a place with you and may ask you for more information.
When you come along you will be asked to fill in some details about your item and sign a disclaimer - we will do our best to repair your item but cannot guarantee that we can mend everything. You are welcome to enjoy a drink and some cake while you are waiting.
Once our volunteer repairer is ready you will go over to them, and they will identify whether they can help. You sit with the volunteer during the mend; in some cases, you may have to order a spare part and come back another time for us to fix it.
At the end we ask you to rate your experience, so we know how to do better in the future!
